Former NC State Linebacker Vi Jones didn’t hear his name called in the NFL Draft, but he made a statement this weekend in his first NFL Preseason game. Signed as an Undrafted Free Agent by the Seattle Seahawks, Jones made the most of his opportunity in the Seahawks 25-32 loss to the Steelers on Saturday night.

Jones tallied 6 tackles (2nd highest by a Seahawk), 1 sack, 1 tackle for loss and 1 QB Hit. His most noteworthy play of the night was a viscous sack on Steelers Quarterback Kenny Pickett, that almost resulted in a Safety.

Though not a starter for NC State, Jones ranked 3rd on the Wolfpack in Tackles for Loss (8), and 2nd in Sacks (6) in 2021. The former consensus 4-star prospect out of high school, and transfer from Southern California is showing that he deserves a spot in the NFL.
