NC State 2023 Football Commits Week 1 Report

The high school football season kicked off this weekend for a majority of NC State’s 2023 recruiting class. Here’s a rundown of how Kevin Concepcion, Javonte Vereen, Zack Myers, Lex Thomas, and Tamarcus Cooley did.

4-Star Wide Receiver Kevin Concepcion had 5 receptions for 104 yards and a touchdown in Chambers’ 28-14 victory over Cardinal Gibbons.

4-Star Tight End Javonte Vereen had 3 receptions for 73 yards and 2 touchdowns, and also carried the ball 1 time for 13 yards and a touchdown in Havelock’s 42-0 victory over Croatan in Week 1.

4-Star Athlete Zack Myers had 1 reception for 53 yards on offense and 9 tackles (3 for loss) in Christ School’s 10-6 loss to Charlotte Latin.

3-Star Quarterback Lex Thomas rushed for 2 touchdowns (6 yards and 3 yards) in Heritage’s 20-14 victory over Holly Springs.

3-Star Safety Tamarcus Cooley returned an interception for a touchdown in Rolesville’s 52-24 victory over Pinecrest.
