NC State’s Depth Chart vs. Charleston Southern with Notes

NC State’s Football team has released their Depth Chart for this Saturday’s game vs. Charleston Southern at home at 12:30pm.

Notes

  • Starting Y-Tight End Trent Pennix is out 4-6 weeks with an injury. As a result, Redshirt Freshman Cedric Seabrough is starting in his place, with Redshirt Sophomore Kam Walker listed as his backup.
  • Interestingly, there is an “or” between starting X-Receiver Redshirt Junior Devin Carter and Graduate Wide Receiver Darryl Jones.
  • After the Slimey Shark’s performance in the season opener, there is an “or” in between Redshirt Freshman Running Back Demie Sumo-Kargnbaye’s name and Junior Running Back Jordan Houston.
  • This past Saturday’s game was Redshirt Sophomore Defensive End CJ Clark’s first game action since suffering an injury last year. Heading into Week 2, there is an “or” in between his name and Sophomore Davin Vann.
    • There is also an “or” in between Graduate Cory Durden and Redshirt Sophomore Joshua Harris at Nose Tackle.
    • To be honest, I don’t think this means that Clark and Harris are about to take the jobs of Durden and Vann, but it shows the confidence they have in their depth.

I would guess those ‘or’ indicators are rewards for quality practice, and the opportunity to get live reps. Kind of a right of passage on your way to the starting lineup.
