NC State Football’s History in the Top-10 of the AP Poll

Dave Doeren has led the NC State Football program to a place few teams have been in school history. This afternoon, the Week 5 AP Poll was released, and the Wolfpack find themselves ranked 10th in the nation. This is only 5th team in school history to be ranked in the Top-10, and the first to do so in 20 years.

2022 – 1 week at #10
2002 – 1 week at #10 in the Week 10 Poll.
1974 – 2 weeks in the Top-10. 8th in Week 4 Poll and 10th in the Week 6 Poll.
1967 – 6 weeks in the Top-10. 9th in Week 4, 5th in Week 5, 5th in Week 6, 4th in Week 7, 3rd in Week 8, 10th in Week 9.
1957 – 2 weeks in the Top-10. 10th in Week 6 and Week 7

In total, this is only the 12th Week since the creation of the AP Poll in 1936, that NC State has been ranked in the Top-10.

The #10 NC State will face the 5th ranked Clemson Tigers next Saturday night will be the Wolfpack’s first Top-10 matchup in the history of the program.
