When it rains…

According to David Thompson of the USAToday, NC State Redshirt Freshman Running Back Demie Sumo-Karngbaye is “unlikely” to play against #18 Syracuse.

He followed that up with the following quote in an article.

NC State sophomore running back Demie Sumo-Karnbaye did not partake in pre-game workouts and is not expected to play Saturday against Syracuse.

Coach Dave Doeren said earlier this week he had expected Sumo-Karnbaye to play this week. A source close to the team said the running back had received treatment before the game on an undisclosed injury.

This is brutal, considering the fact that news just broke that Wolfpack Quarterback Devin Leary will miss the remainder of the season, requiring surgery on a torn pec.

The Wolfpack will have to establish the run with Leary out, and Sumo is an essential part of the NC State rushing attack.

Expect to see a heavy dose of Jordan Houston, but I also expect to see an increased dose of Delbert Mimms, and maybe even True Freshman Michale Allen.
