KenPom with his stats and algorithms, have cooked up an 81st preseason ranking for the NC State Men’s Basketball team headed into the 2022-23 season. That ranks 12th in the ACC.
KenPom is data driven, and there’s no data yet, so this list will change significantly.
However it’s interesting to see how the leagues are represented. The SEC & B12 represent half of the top 20 with 5 each, the ACC has 3, P12 2, and WCC, Amer, B10, MW, and BE all have 1. I’ll be very surprised if the B10 only has one top 20 team by the end of the season, and similarly the Big East is only represented by Villanova (who’s coach retired) and they’re predicted to finish second behind Creighton.
