NC State Head Coach Dave Doeren shared that Junior Defensive End Savion Jackson will miss the remainder of the 2022 season with a knee injury that required surgery.

“Savion [Jackson] is out for the year. Unfortunately it was a knee injury that required surgery. He’ll be back healthy, but it was a season-ending deal that happened up at Syracuse.” (GoPack)

In 7 games, Jackson had 15 tackles, 3 tackles for loss and 2 QB Hurries.

Prior to the season, Jackson was awarded the privilege of wearing the #9 jersey, which says a lot about what the Wolfpack coaching staff think of him.

Redshirt Sophomore C.J. Clark, who missed a majority of last season due to injury, will step into fill the shoes of Jackson at Right End, as will Redshirt Freshman Travali Price. Fortunately, both Clark and Price have played a lot of snaps in 2022, with Clark playing 203 and Price playing 159. Jackson played 257 snaps for comparison.

Clark has 9 tackles, 2 sacks, 2 tackles for loss, and 2 QB Hurries, and Price has 8 tackles, 1 sack, 0.5 tackles for loss, 4 QB Hurries and 1 Fumble recovery.
