The NC State Men’s Basketball team kicked off their 2022-23 season tonight with a 99-50 victory over Austin Peay.

5 NC State players scored double-digits.

Sophomore Guard Terquavion Smith picked up where he left off last year, scoring 26 points in the first game of the year, and also dished out 5 assists (1 TO).

Graduate Transfer Point Guard from Ole Miss, Jarkel Joiner, showed he can be a game changer for this team in his debut for the Wolfpack, scoring 18 points and slinging 8 assists (2 TO). He also had 4 rebounds.

Another newcomer, Graduate Forward Jack Clark who transferred in from La Salle, chipped in 15 points, 7 rebounds, 2 blocks and 3 steals.

Continuing the trend, Center DJ Burns, Graduate Transfer from Winthrop, nearly had a double-double, with 10 points and 9 rebounds.

The Wolfpack shot 60.6% from the field, 39.3% from three, 80% from the line, and also forced 20 turnovers.

The Wolfpack will be back in action on Friday at home against Campbell at 7pm.
