4-Star 2023 Running Back (5’11″/190) Kendrick Raphael out of Naples, Florida, just verbally committed to NC State.

Back in September of last year, NC State was one of the first schools to offer Raphael. He went on to pick of offers from App State, Duke, Boston College, Iowa, Iowa State, Indiana, Minnesota, Louisville, Oregon, Pitt, Purdue, West Virginia and others.

Raphael took an Official Visit to NC State back at the beginning of June, but then took an Official Visit to Iowa a week later, verbally committing to the Hawkeyes afterward.

With that being said, NC State never stopped recruiting Raphael, and he ended up decommitting from Iowa on September 21st.

The Wolfpack’s perseverance in the recruitment paid off, flipping the former Iowa commit.

Rivals, 247, and ESPN all rank Raphael as a 4-Star prospect, and Rivals ranks him as the #15 running back nationally.

Raphael went bananas in his final year at Naples this season, rushing for 1,731 yards (12.8 yards per carry) and 22 touchdowns.
