Is Tim Beck a Candidate to be the Head Coach at Coastal Carolina?

According to Pete Thamel of ESPN, Coastal Carolina is bracing for the departure of head coach Jame Chadwell, and Liberty is apparently willing to offer him $4 million. According to Thamel, if Chadwell leaves Coastal, NC State Offensive Coordinator and Quarterbacks Coach Tim Beck is a ‘top name to replace Chadwell’ in Conway, South Carolina.

According to Thamel, he expects Chadwell to make a decision in the next 24-48 hours, and because Coastal has been preparing for his exodus for years now, if he bolts this weekend, Thamel expects them to name their new head coach by the end of the weekend.

Beck has been the Offensive Coordinator and Quarterbacks Coach at NC State since 2020. The last time Beck has been a head coach was at Mansfield Summitt High School in Texas, in 2004. Since then he has been an Assistant Coach at Kansas, Nebraska, Ohio State, Texas, and obviously, NC State.

Beck has connections with Coastal Carolina, because his daughter Haylie Beck played Volleyball for the Chanticleers.
