Former NC State All-American Pitcher Carlos Rodon got PAID!

The Yankees have signed Rodon to a 6-year deal worth $162 million with a full no trade clause.

Rodon just wrapped up his 8th season in the MLB, and it was arguably the best season of his career, and it paid off.

He finished 2022 with a 14-8 record, with a 2.88 ERA. He struck out 237 batters in 178 innings, and his WHIP was 1.03.

His 14 wins were a career high, as were the 237 strikeouts.

Rodon finished the regular season ranked 8th in the NL in ERA, 2nd in K’s, and 9th in WHIP.

Maybe the most important stat this year was the fact that he started a career high 31 games, which is significant, considering the fact that Rodon has had a hard time staying healthy throughout his career.

After 2020, Rodon was looking to to be without a job, but the White Sox gave him a 1-year contract ($3 million) that wasn’t guaranteed. He would have to prove himself, and prove himself he did.

Rodon has been named to the All-Star team the past two seasons, after not earning All-Star honors his first 6 seasons.

Congrats Carlos! We’re all proud of you!
