PI EXCLUSIVE: JUCO CB Terrente Hinton Breaks Down Commitment to NC State

Junior College Cornerback Terrente Hinton committed to run with the Woflpack this morning after taking an Official Visit to NC State this weekend, and I was able to catch up with him to get his thoughts.

1) When did NC State reach out to you, and what has been their approach?

They reached out to me like 4 weeks ago, but ever since then their approach has been genuine love.

2) What did you do on your Official, and what was NC State’s pitch to you?

On my official visit I chilled with the players mostly, and that really was a pitch, because everybody wants to see you winning. Aydan White was my host.

3) What was important for you as you looked at schools?

I wanted to look out for the coaches, to see if they were legit or not. I also wanted to make sure the players were brothers, and how they compete. Most importantly, I was looking for a school that wants you to get a degree just in case football doesn’t go how you think it will go.

4) Why did you commit to NC State?

I wanted to be a part of a winning program. I also wanted to feel like I’m home away from home. NC State provided both of those things, and I felt like this was the right spot for me. Both Coach Mitchell and Coach Doeren are real, and they are confident about the team. You can see it by the way they carry themselves.
