Old Dominion Cornerback Transfer Robert Kennedy III (5’10″/185) has committed to NC State. Kennedy has 1 year of eligibility remaining.

The Wolfpack offered Kennedy on December 7th.

Kennedy took an Official Visit to NC State this past weekend, and he took one to Boston College the weekend prior.

Kennedy was originally a 3-star prospect out of Jeannette High School (Jeannette, PA), and was ranked as the #6 player in the state of Pennsylvania in the 2018 recruiting class.

In 2019, Kennedy would start his collegiate career playing at the JUCO level, playing for Lackawanna in 2018 and 2019. He then transferred to East Carolina, and played 5 games for the Pirates in 2020.

Kennedy then decided to transfer to Old Dominion, where he redshirted in 2021, and started all 11 games at Safety for the Monarchs in 2022. He finished this year with 52 tackles, 6 pass breakups and 1 interception.

ON3 ranks Kennedy as the #5 Safety in the Transfer Portal.

Kennedy is the 3rd player from the Portal to transfer to NC State, joining Clemson Wide Receiver Dacari Collins and Oregon Offensive Tackle Dawson Jaramillo.
