4-Star WR Elijah Caldwell Taking Official Visit to NC State This Weekend

Former West Virginia verbal commit 2023 Wide Receiver Elijah Caldwell (6’1″/190) confirmed with me that he will be taking an Official Visit to NC State this weekend.

Caldwell originally committed to West Virginia on July 1st. With the early signing Day sneaking up in December, NC State jumped in and offered Caldwell on December 9th.

Then on December 19th, two days before Early Signing Day, Caldwell decommitted from West Virginia.

Caldwell has picked up a couple of offers since his decommitment, landing offers from Purdue, Georgia Tech, and most importantly, South Carolina.

Even though Caldwell is taking an Official Visit to NC State this weekend, the offer from his home state South Carolina, which came in on January 7th, might just throw a monkey wrench in things.

ESPN ranks the Northwestern High School (Rock Hill, South Carolina) standout as the #4 player in the state of South Carolina in 2023. As a Senior, Caldwell exploded for 77 receptions for 1,365 yards and 19 touchdown receptions. He also averaged 26.1 yards per kickoff return (23 returns), taking one to the house.
