Terquavion Smith dodged a major bullet and may play vs. Notre Dame tomorrow

It seemed almost certain that NC State was going to have to play the rest of their season with superstar Terquavion Smith.

Now it seems like he may not even miss a single game.

According to Kevin Keatts, Smith is going to be a game-time decision on Tuesday when the Pack takes on Notre Dame here in Raleigh. Smith hasn’t practiced, but you have to be sure that he’s picked up a basketball or at least tested out his shooting motion. The fact that they aren’t ruling him out at this point is great news.

With Notre Dame struggling, Keatts may be ok with Smith taking a game off to get back to 100%, but if you know Terquavion, then you know he’s going to do everything in his power to play. If the medical staff clears him, we believe he’ll be out on the court tomorrow night.

Smith was reportedly out in Raleigh in good spirits amongst fans, without a cast or any kind of noticeable brace on his elbow. This is amazing to see after the scene we witnessed on Saturday.

We’ll keep you updated as we learn more, but my guess is that we won’t know much until the guys dress out tomorrow night.

Need T on top of his game for Wake. I suggest he put in some minutes for ND, but maybe no more than 20? (assuming he’s okay, of course) Give LJ the extra minutes.
Dodged a bullet is the understatement of the year.

As for Notre Dame, we could really use Terq’s 16 to 18 points, but someone must stop their big guy. DJ should never be beyond the free throw line on defense. Without Dusan, Gantt is probably the only one quick enough to pressure Laszewski on the three point line w/o getting blown by for a layup or dunk. Maybe this is Ebe’s game to shine. Any updates on Clark???

Just glad the kid did not suffer a major head or neck injury (or a concussion for that matter).

I think those elbow injuries can last a while, but sounds encouraging.

At least we should be able to beat ND at home. But we are down 3 key starters and ND is getting better.
