Right now, Thursday morning (I needed time to calm down after the Cuse loss), UVA and Miami look like locks. Duke gets in because they are Dook. If UNC gets invited and Pitt doesn’t; how many of you would be surprised? You cannot trust the NCAA selection committee. I really think we need to win at least two and maybe even three more regular season games to get in.

The NET is every bit as flawed as any statistical based ranking method I have ever seen. For instance a Quad one win in December and becomes a Quad three by March if they lose a key player. The reverse makes some teams look better than they are. The ACC is beating up on each other and actually hurting our bubble teams’ chances.

Yes, NET is screwed up. They slot entire conference above one another based on a small number of Nov/Dec interconference games AND the previous year’s performance. They slotted the ACC lower and therefore there is no way we’ll get our share of teams in regardless of how good a lot of the teams have become.
