Isaiah Miranda is an Early Entry Candidate for the 2023 NBA Draft

Published

The NBA released the names of the 242 players that have filed as early entry candidates for NBA Draft 2023 last night, and NC State’s Isaiah Miranda’s name was on the list.

Miranda (7’1″/225) joined the Wolfpack back in December, deciding to forgo the remainder of his prep season. Miranda didn’t see the court for NC State, resulting in a redshirt season.

ON3 ranked Miranda as the #16 overall player in the 2023 recruiting class.

It makes perfect sense for a player like Miranda, with his height and athleticism, to go through the draft process to be evaluated on what he needs to continue to work on. As an early entrant, Miranda has the ability to pull his name out of the draft and remain a collegiate athlete.

I don’t expect Miranda to keep his name in the hat when the time comes. From what I hear his game has tons of potential, but he still needs to fine tune his craft. Also, Miranda shared this on social media, implying he will be back in the Red and White next year.

Paul McNeil next one to never step foot on court. Just wait and see.

Oops. Another one got away. Let’s get another guard so we can play five of them at a time. This is sickening. It’s not even June yet and basketball is over for next year.

I think maybe you’re overreacting just a tad.

Not as long as KK is the coach. Six and seven highly recruited people never put a foot on the court. Got to tell us something about his closing ability.

This tells me he is healthy.

Healthy enough to transfer. Good bye and take KK with you.

I notice that Manny Bates and Mady Traore are on the list. And Miami’s big money guy, Nigel Pack is there along with Wong – if they lose them both, that’ll hurt.

Key NBA dates:
April 23: Final date to submit names for NBA draft
May 16 – 18: Draft combine
June 12: Last date they have to withdraw from the draft

I looked around and saw a BR article announcing Smith’s return last year dated May 31.

Miranda expects to play in the NBA. This is a smart move, and hopefully he’ll get a punch list from the feedback and he’ll work on it with Levi’s help. Smith definitely changed his game with the feedback he got.

Hell we don’t even know if he can play at the college level yet. Someone is in his ear and giving him bad information. Send him to the G league and be done with him.

Under NCAA rules, in order to retain college basketball eligibility, college players who have entered NBA Draft 2023 must withdraw by Wednesday, May 31.

I looked it up and you are absolutely right. I got the dates above from an NBA site. Weird that the NBA would publish the 6/12 date and the NCAA the 5/31 date.
Nice catch

My birthday is 6/12 and I didn’t want to get bad news on that day. So I asked the NCAA if they would pull their date up since I really don’t care about the NBA. Seriously, I have no idea except maybe after the 5/31 date the players can get agents.
