NC State Honors DE Davin Vann with #1 Jersey

Junior Defensive End Davin Vann will be wearing the honored #1 jersey for NC State this season. Ever since 2014, Wolfpack head coach Dave Doeren has

“given the No. 1 jersey to a player who exhibits an elite work ethic and practice and training habits, while also leading his teammates. “This player doesn’t just uphold the standards,” said head coach Dave Doeren. “He pushes them higher.”  (GoPack)

Linebacker Isaiah Moore was honored with the privilege of wearing the #1 for the past three seasons, which is the longest anyone has ever worn it. Moore and Jaylen Samuels are the only two players to wear it for more than one season.

Vann joins Moore and Samuels as the only underclassmen to wear the #1 jersey.

Last year, Vann posted 33 tackles, 8 tackles for loss and 4.5 sacks as a True Sophomore. ProFootballFocus’ grade for Vann at seasons end was 74.6, which was the highest of anyone on the Wolfpack Defensive Line with 200 snaps or more.

“Davin has earned this honor,” Doeren continued.  “He has one speed and he is a dominant player who serves others off the field.” (GoPack)
