Tonight’s game marks the 7th time the two teams have faced one another. Currently, the series is split right down the middle, with each team winning three a piece. Two of the six games have been played during Kevin Keatts’ tenure, with the Wolfpack being victorious in each contest.

The Wolfpack faced the Commodores last year in Chicago in the Legends of Basketball Showcase, with NC State winning 70-66. D.J. Burns led the Wolfpack in scoring and rebounding, with 18 and 9. Casey Morsell also had a hot hand in last years game, scoring 15 points on 6 of 10 shooting.

The series between NC State and Vanderbilt dates back to the 1968-69 season.

Just watch my first game this year. Seems to me that Horne and Middlebrooks are useless. We will be a great deal of hurt when we come up against teams with two big men at a time. Burns still needs to loose 40 pounds. Still quick but his weight makes him foul prone.
