Oklahoma Transfer Running Back Daylan Smothers (5’11″/190) will be taking an Official Visit to NC State this week, according to a source.

Smothers was a 4-Star prospect (ESPN & Rivals) in the 2023 recruiting class out of Charlotte, and chose Oklahoma over NC State, Alabama and FSU. ESPN ranked Smothers as the #230 overall player nationally in the 2023 recruiting class, and the #12 Running Back. Rivals ranked him as the #6 player in the state of North Carolina.

As a True Freshman at Oklahoma, Smothers played in 4 games, allowing him to redshirt the season. He rushed the ball 11 times for 42 yards in 33 snaps of play.

Rivals ranks Smothers as the #7 Running Back in the Transfer Portal, and ON3 ranks him 15th.

With the exodus of Houston and Allen, there is no doubt that the Wolfpack are looking to strike big at the Running Back position in the Portal, and I don’t think Smothers is the Pack’s only target either.

Smothers will arrive for his Official Visit on Friday.
