Oregon Transfer QB Ty Thompson is Taking an Official Visit to NC State this Week

Oregon Transfer Quarterback Ty Thompson (6’4″/220) will be taking an Official Visit to NC State this week, according to a source.

Thompson played in 7 games this year in a reserve role for the Ducks as a Redshirt Sophomore. He completed 77.4% of his passes for 297 yards and 4 touchdowns (1 interception), adding up to a Passing Efficiency Rating of 194.0. Thompson’s PFF grade this year was 82.7.

In 2022, Thompson also played in 7 games as a reserve, but the results weren’t nearly as good as this year, completing 11 of his 20 pass attempts for 72 yards with 0 touchdowns, and 2 interceptions (65.2 Passing Efficiency Rating).

According to Rivals, Thompson was a 5-star prospect in the 2021 recruiting class, ranking 10th overall nationally. They also ranked him as the #2 Dual Threat Quarterback nationally, and the #1 player in the state of Arizona. Thompson was a consensus Top-100 prospect, and ON3 and 247Sports both ranked him as a Top-10 Quarterback prospect, regardless of style.

ON3 ranks Thompson as the #20 Quarterback in the Transfer Portal.

Thompson has 2 years to play his final two years of eligibility.

He will arrive for his Official Visit on Friday.
