Due to Court Ruling, NC State’s Kam Woods Could Technically Play Over the Next 14 Days
Yesterday Judge John Preston Bailey in West Virginia issued a Temporary Restraining Order against the NCAA, which will temporarily make players who are not eligible to play under current NCAA Transfer Rules, able to play during the length of the Restraining Order, which is a period of 14 days.
TRO has been granted.
NCAA can’t enforce its transfer waiver rules.
It’s in effect for 14 days.
Huge ruling. https://t.co/dQGkHYCwYY

On December 27th, Bailey will have the ability to issue a Preliminary Injunction, which would continue to make players currently ineligible to play under the current NCAA Transfer Rules, eligible for the remainder of the trial, with no possibility of punishment for doing so, regardless of the outcome of the trial.
Dave Yost is the lead attorney issuing the complaint, and he had this to say after the hearing yesterday.
At the hearing, we found out that 99 players had been denied a waiver, and 44 are currently in process waiting.
It’s reasonable to believe that 100 athletes or more could be impacted by today’s restraining order against the NCAA double transfer rule.

One of those 99 players that was denied a waiver was NC State Guard Kam Woods. When it was announced that Woods had been denied a waiver, NC State also announced they would be appealing the decision.
Woods played for North Carolina A&T last year, averaging 17.3 points, 4.2 rebounds, 3.3 assists and 1.6 steals. He led A&T in points, assists and three-pointers, and earned Second Team All-CAA honors.
