The 3rd ranked NC State Women’s Basketball team improved to 11-0 tonight, defeating South Florida (7-4) 66-54 on the road.

For the 4th time this season, Junior Aziaha James led NC State in scoring with 16 points, and she also led the Wolfpack in assists (5) for the 2nd time.

James tied Senior River Baldwin with 16 points, who led the Pack in scoring for the 2nd time this season. Baldwin snagged 11 rebounds, making it a double-double. This was Baldwin’s 2nd double-double of the year.

Senior Madison Hayes and Freshman Zoe Brooks both had 12 points. Brooks started for the second consecutive game due to an injured Saniya Rivers. The Wolfpack were +18 with Brooks on the court, which led the team.

The Wolfpack shot extremely well from the field (50%), but poorly from three (20%) and the free throw line (50%). Defensively, NC State held South Florida to 35% shooting from the field and 28% from deep.

The 50% field goal percentage is NC State’s best since November 23rd against Kentucky.

The Wolfpack had their way in the paint, scoring 42 points in the paint, which is tied for the 2nd most on the year.

The Wolfpack will continue their road trip on Wednesday, playing at Old Dominion on Wednesday night at 6:30pm.
