4-Star NC State ATH Commit Jonathan Paylor Signs NLI

4-Star 2024 Athlete Jonathan Paylor (5’9″/170) signed his National Letter of Intent to play football for NC State.

Paylor is a consensus 4-Star prospect. ESPN ranks him as the #87 overall player nationally in the 2024 recruiting class, the #5 Athlete, and the #2 player in the state of North Carolina. Rivals ranks Paylor as the #90 overall player nationally, the #19 Wide Receiver and the #3 player in the state of North Carolina. 247Sports ranks Paylor as the #141 overall player nationally, the #10 Running Back, and the #5 player in the state of North Carolina.

As a Senior at Cummings (Burlington, North Carolina), Paylor rushed 2,378 yards and 30 touchdowns, averaging 14.1 yards per carry. He also had 25 receptions for 381 yards and 3 touchdowns. Paylor also returned 2 punts for touchdowns, and 1 kickoff for a touchdown. Cummings finished the season 9-3, falling to Southeast Alamance in the 2nd round of the playoffs.

NC State offered Paylor back on June 4th, 2021, and committed to run with the Pack on August 4th of this year.

Paylor also held offers from UNC, South Carolina, Maryland, Duke, Ohio State, Tennessee, Clemson, Virginia Tech, Alabama, Georgia, Florida, LSU, Texas A&M, Penn St., Kentucky, Colorado, Louisville, Michigan St., and others.

At one point, it looked like Paylor was destined to play for the Gamecocks, but in the end, he decided to run with the Wolfpack. He chose NC State out of a Top-5 that also included South Carolina, North Carolina, Penn State and Maryland
