4-Star NC State ATH Commit Ronnie Royal III Signs NLI

4-Star 2024 Athlete Ronnie Royal III (5’11″/175) has signed his National Letter of Intent to play football for NC State.

247Sports, ESPN and Rivals all rank Royal as a 4-star prospect. ON3 gives him 3 stars. 247Sports ranks him as the #20 Athlete nationally, and the #23 overall player in the state of Alabama. ESPN ranks him as the #19 player in Alabama. Rivals ranks him as the #11 All-Purpose Back in the nation, and the #25 player in the state of Alabama.

Royal rushed for 1,069 yards and 17 touchdowns for Gulf Shores as a Senior this year, averaging 7.1 yards per carry. He also had 34 receptions for 473 yards and a touchdown. Defensivley, he had 55 tackles, 9 tackles for loss, 2 sacks, 5 interceptions, 12 pass breakups and 2 forced fumbles. Royal averaged 29.4 yards per kickoff return (14 returns) and 21.7 yards per punt return (28 returns). Outside of touchdowns via rushing and catching, Royal also returned two interceptions for touchdowns, returned 4 punts for touchdowns and returned 2 kickoffs for touchdowns. Gulf Shore finished the season 15-0, winning the state championship for the first time in school history.

NC State offered Royal back on January 23rd of this year, and committed to the Wolfpack on June 23rd, a week after his Official Visit. He also held offers from Boston College, FSU, South Carolina, Missouri, Arkansas, Mississippi St., UCF and others. Before committing to NC State, it was down to the Wolfpack and Boston College.

Missouri tried to make a run at flipping Royal, but in the end he stuck to his commitment to run with the Wolfpack.
