4-Star NC State LB Commit Elijah Groves Signs NLI

4-Star 2024 Linebacker Elijah Groves (6’4″/215) has signed his National Letter of Intent to play football for NC State.

247Sports and ON3 both rank Groves as a 4-star prospect, while ESPN and Rivals give him 3 stars. 247Sports ranks Groves as the #135 overall player nationally in the 2024 recruiting class, the #12 Linebacker and the #3 player in the state of Tennessee.

Groves recorded 85 tackles, 17 tackles for loss, 1 sack, 4 interceptions, 4 pass breakups, 4 forced fumbles and 3 fumble recoveries for East Robertson this season as a Senior. On Offense, Groves had 30 receptions for 506 yards and 6 touchdowns. He also averaged 35.2 yards per kickoff return (6 returns) and 11.4 yards per punt return (8 returns). Adding to his 6 touchdown receptions, Groves also had a rushing touchdown, 2 interceptions returned for touchdowns, and a kickoff returned for a touchdown. East Robertson finished the season with a 13-2 record, losing to Riverside in the state championship game.

Initially, Groves verbally committed to Kentucky on July 1st of this year, but he ultimately flipped his commitment to NC State on December 6th. The Wolfpack offered Groves on May 11th of this year. He also held offers from Purdue, Virginia Tech, Memphis, Charlotte, UAB, Ball St. and others.
