It actually happened! Ohio State Wide Receiver Noah Rogers (6’2″/201) is transferring to NC State.

On New Years Eve news broke that the former 5-Star prospect out of the Raleigh area (Rolesville High School) was entering the Transfer Portal.

ON3 rated Rogers as a 5-Star prospect in the the 2023 class, and the #26 overall player nationally, the #3 Wide Receiver and the #1 player in the state of North Carolina.

Rogers was teammates with Tamarcus Cooley at Rolesville, who recently transferred to NC State from Maryland. As a Senior at Rolesville, Rogers had 39 receptions for 799 yards and 15 touchdowns. He also returned a Kickoff for a TD. As a Junior, he had 70 receptions for 1,432 yards and 22 touchdowns. He also returned a Punt for a TD.

This season, Rogers played in 4 games (14 snaps) for Ohio State, but didn’t record any stats. He will be a Redshirt Freshman at NC State in 2024, with 4 years of eligibility remaining.

NC State already has 5 Wide Receivers coming to NC State from their high school class, with 4 of them being 4-star prospects. They already picked up a commitment from Wake Forest Transfer Wesley Grimes from the Transfer Portal, who was also a 4-Star prospect (nearly 5-stars) in high school. NC State obviously returns the best Freshman Wide Receiver from 2023 in Kevin Concepcion. NC State was lacking at the skill positions in 2023, but with the addition of Rogers and everyone else, Quarterback Grayson McCall should have a blast picking who to throw to.

Out of all of the additions the Wolfpack have made in the Transfer Portal, I believe the addition of Rogers is the most game changing addition.
