NC State Basketball
Prior to Tuesday, it had Been 1,115 Games Since NC State Won a Game Without Hitting a 3-Pointer
On Tuesday night, NC State’s Men’s Basketball team defeated Wake Forest 83-76, but didn’t hit a single three-point shot, going 0-8 from beyond the arc.
It’s hard to imagine a team winning a game in which they shot 53.7% from the field, and make 0 three-pointers, but nonetheless, it happened.
How long has it been since NC State won a game without making a three-point basket?
According to Tim Peeler, 1,115 games.

March 4th, 1989.
That’s how long it’s been.
Oh, but it gets even more ironic than that.
On March 4th, 1989, NC State defeated Wake Forest 110-103, shooting 48.4% from the field, but 0-11 from deep.
You read that correctly. The last two times NC State has beat a team without hitting a three-pointer, their opponent was Wake Forest on both occasions.
According to John Gasaway of ESPN, it’s been almost 2 years since this has happened in College Basketball.
