Former NC State All-ACC Guard Terquavion Smith made his NBA Debut last night for the 76ers. Smith only played in the final minute of Philly’s 124-109 win over Orlando, but he managed to drain both of the three-pointers he shot (SEE ABOVE).

Smith went undrafted last year, but the 76ers signed him to a 2-way contract as an undrafted free agent. If you’re unfamiliar with what a 2-way contract is, it gives the player the ability to go back-and-forth from a G-League team to that teams NBA Affiliate Team. The player can play a maximum of 50 NBA games on a 2-way contract, while the rest would have to be played in the G-League.

Through 21 games in the G-League this season, Smith proved to be a scoring machine for the Delaware Blue Coats, scoring 21.4 points per game off the bench.

NBA MVP Joel Embiid was so blown away by Smith’s 1-minute of play, that he gave him the game ball.

“It means everything,” Smith added of getting the game ball from Embiid. “NBA MVP, so I mean, I’m blessed. It made me smile so it’s all I could ask for.” (Link)

Last night was a dream come true for Smith.

“It’s a surreal moment,” said Smith after the win. “Something I’ve always dreamed of just being blessed to get the opportunity that means a lot. So, I would like to thank the Sixers organization for giving me the opportunity to do something that I always dreamed of doing. So I’m just very thankful at the end of the day.” (Link)
