#10 NC State Crushes FSU 69-43 in the ACC Tournament Semifinals

The 10th ranked NC State Women’s Basketball team crushed Florida State today 69-43 in the Semifinals of the ACC Tournament.

Junior Guard Aziaha James led the Pack with 23 points, shooting 10 of 18 from the field. She also chipped in 9 boards, and her 4 assists tied for the team high.

Senior Forward Mimi Collins had a double-double of 17 points (8-13 FG) and 13 boards (team high).

What the Wolfpack did on defense was most impressive. The Seminoles rank 2nd in the ACC in Scoring Offense, averaging 79.8 points per contest. The 43-point output by FSU was their lowest of the season.

NC State forced their will, scoring 42 of their 69 points in the paint, compared to FSU’s 18.

The #2 seeded Wolfpack will play the #4 seed Notre Dame tomorrow in the ACC Championship game at 1pm on ESPN. NC State defeated the Irish 59-43 in South Bend back on February 15th. The Wolfpack have advanced to the Championship game for the 4th time in the last 5 seasons, and are looking to win their 4th ACC title in the last 5 seasons.
