3-Star 2025 Offensive Lineman Michael Gibbs (6’3.5″/280) confirmed with me he will be taking an unofficial visit to NC State this Friday. He will also be back for the Spring game on April 6th. After interviewing him, Gibbs announced yesterday that he will be taking an Official Visit to NC State on June 21-23.

Here’s what he had to say about NC State heading into this weeks visit.

What did it mean to you to pick up an offer from NC State?

Receiving an offer from NC state was big. It was a personal goal of mine and reaching it gave me some self gratification.

How many times have you visited NC State before? What other schools have you visited, or have plans to visit? Do you have any Official Visits scheduled?

I’ve been to State at least 4 times so far, and plan to be back next week on the 22nd and for the Spring Game on April 6th. I am still working on OV’s and don’t have any set dates (he has since scheduled his OV to NC State). In addition to NCSU, I plan to visit Duke, Penn State, and Virginia Tech.

What’s your relationship been like with NC State since they started recruiting you? How have they prioritized you? What’s their message to you?

My relationship with NCSU has been nothing short of progressive. They’ve made it well known that I am a priority and take the time to send me personal mail and texts. Their biggest message to me is that I am a great fit for them, and that I am a high priority for them.

When do you hope to make a college decision by?

I am going to try and make a decision sometime this summer.

Where does NC State currently stand in your recruitment? Who else stands out?

NC state is obviously one of the top schools in their conference, so they are high in my recruitment by default. Other schools that stand out to me and that have been recruiting me heavily include, Duke, Virginia Tech, USF, Penn State, and ECU.

Rivals ranks Gibbs as the #24 overall player in the state of North Carolina in the 2025 recruiting class. He plays for Hoggard High School in Wilmington, NC.

NC State offered Gibbs back on November 3rd, and he also holds offers from Duke, Penn St., Liberty, Virginia Tech, App St., Coastal Carolina and others.
