2025 Tight End Preston Douglas (6’4″/225) confirmed with me that he will be taking an unofficial visit to NC State on Friday, March 22nd. I caught up with him to get his take on NC State’s recruitment of him before he arrives on campus.

What did it mean to you to pick up an offer from NC State?

It was super amazing and special to me, because it was one of my first offers, and I just really connected to the coach.

How many times have you visited NC State before, or is this the 1st time? What other schools have you visited, or have plans to visit? Do you have any Official Visits scheduled?

I have yet to visit NC State. This will be the first time. I plan on visiting Wake Forest, Florida State, Syracuse, USF, and FAU in the next month. No Official Visits scheduled.

What’s your relationship been like with NC State since they started recruiting you? How have they prioritized you? What’s their message to you?

Pretty good. They are great with relationships.

When do you hope to make a college decision by?

I plan on making a decision this summer

Where does NC State currently stand in your recruitment? Who else stands out?

I don’t know for sure yet with the rankings, because a lot is gonna change this Spring, but so far NC State is up there with in my top schools.

Douglas plays for The Benjamin School in Jupiter, Florida. NC State offered him back on January 26th, and he also holds offers from Syracuse, App St., Liberty, USF and others.

Wolfpack Head Coach Dave Doeren went down to Florida to visit with Douglas the day before NC State offered.

As a Junior this past season, Douglas had 23 receptions for 405 yards and 8 touchdowns for Jupiter High School.
