PI EXCLUSIVE: 2-Sport Athlete Nate Mccollum Breaks Down his Commitment to NC State

Published

on

3-Star 2020 slot receiver Nate Mccollum verbally committed to play football and baseball at NC State last night, becoming the 6th football commitment in the 2020 recruiting class. I caught up with him last night to get his thoughts on his commitment.

NC State welcomed me as one of their own today. The coaching staff are great people to be around, but also phenomenal coaches. Coach Doeren and his coaching staff have great success coming their way . I can definitely say NC state is home to me. They’re building one of the best programs in the country.

Nate Mccollum

As you can see from the official commitment graphic below, finding a place to play both of the sports that he loves was important.

I was able to attend the baseball game yesterday, and am very impressed with both programs. I feel like they both fit me very well

Nate Mccollum

Mccollum possesses elite speed on the baseball paths and on the football field.

4.41 in the 40 and 6.33 in the 60

Nate Mccollum

For context, that 6.33 in the 60-yard dash ranks 99.71% of all baseball prospects in the 2020 class.

How does that speed come in handy on the gridiron?

Getting the ball out to me in space quick, me making one man miss, and taking it the distance.
