Could NC State Land Duke Transfer Running Back Jordan Waters?

Published

on

Back on October 14th, Jordan Waters (6’0″/219) ran all over NC State in Wallace Wade Stadium, rushing for 123 yards and a touchdown on 13 carries.

Wouldn’t it be something if Waters ran all over Duke next year in Carter-Finley Stadium?

Waters entered the Transfer Portal on December 6th, and instantly drew attention from college football programs all across the country. Programs like USC, Oklahoma, Texas A&M, Arkansas, South Carolina and others.

You know who else was instantly interested in Waters?

NC State.

According to a source, Waters and the NC State coaches have been in conversation this week, and from what I’m hearing, the Wolfpack are in a really good spot.

Waters rushed for 753 yards  and 12 touchdowns this season, averaging 5.3 yards per carry. In his career, Waters has averaged 5.0 yards per carry in 50 games.

The former 3-star prospect out of Fairmont High School (Fairmont, North Carolina) earned 3rd Team All-ACC honors this season. Pretty good for a player that was ranked 43rd in the state of North Carolina by ESPN as a Senior in High School.

According to what I’m hearing, I’m projecting Waters will end up running with the Wolfpack. This is one to keep an eye on.

No thank you. First you played for Duke. Second you only have one year of eligibility left.

I don’t care where a guy has played previously. My only concern is if he can help the team. And only one year remaining? Well, that’s all McCall has, too. It would be great if we could get and keep impact players from the high school ranks. But 21st Century realities mean you don’t turn your nose up on anyone.

Didn’t say McCall was my choice either. I preferred someone with experience against Power 5 schools not JV level. We better start concentrating on the OL and DL or it will not matter who is running or throwing the ball.
