Whether you are aware of it or not, Wolfpack QB Ryan Finley is putting up the type of numbers that get your jersey retired at NC State.

After two weeks of play, Ryan Finley is closing in on Mike Glennon for the 4th most passing yards in NC State history.

There is a good chance of Finley passes Glennon this Saturday vs. Marshall, seeing as he only needs 155 more yards. In fact, Finley throwing for over 200 yards in a game is a pretty sure bet these days. Actually, Finley throwing for 300 yards in a game is becoming more and more likely. Check out this stat…

Finely is tied with Russell Wilson for 2nd most 300-yard games in NC State history with 12. Philip Rivers leads in this category with 19, so Finley would need 7 more to tie and 8 more pass him.

What’s the likelihood of that happening? Well, he’d have to really catch fire. Finley has thrown for 300+ yards in 43% of the games he’s played at NC State.

It’s worth noting that Finley’s percentage is the highest of any quarterback in NC State history.

Ryan Finley – 42.9%
Mike Glennon – 38.5%
Philip Rivers – 37.3%
Russell Wilson – 31.3%

He also posts the sixth-highest passing yardage average among Power 5 QB’s.

With the West Virginia game unlikely to be rescheduled, NC State has 10 games left (assuming they make a bowl). That means Finley would need to pass for 300+ yards in 80% of his games to break that record.

While it’s not likely, these stats are still extremely impressive and speak to just how great Ryan Finley has been at NC State.
