3-Star 2019 NC State Running Back Commit Zonovan Knight took home the Offensive Most Valuable Player honor at the 82nd Shrine Bowl.

Knight carried the ball 24 times for 151 yards and a touchdown. The touchdown was a 61-yard burst, that was reminiscent of Nyheim Hines.

Here’s what Knight had to say to GoUpState about his performance:

“It’s a great honor, not only because I’m listed as one of the top players in N.C., but we’re playing for a greater cause and that’s to raise money for the Shriners Hospital,” he said.

“With so many great athletes here it’s just a great honor be chosen as the offensive MVP,” he said. (Link)

Knight originally committed to Duke on March 3rd, but shortly afterwards decommitted on May 20th. NC State offered him a scholarship back on January 16th, and ended up committing to run with the Wolfpack on July 9th.

As a Senior at Southern Nash, Knight rushed for 2,054 yards and 26 touchdowns, averaging an absurd 16.6 yards per carry.

This marks the second consecutive year that a future NC State running back took home the Offensive MVP award, with Ricky Person collecting the hardware last year.

Knight will be enrolling early in January.
