Wolferetti: Hey, NC State Fans, the Mississippi State love affair is OVER!

I’m sick of it.

I go online and people in WPN are STILL romanticizing this “brotherhood” we “have” with Miss State after they showed a little solidarity to the Pack after their bogus elimination from the College World Series.

There are people with profile photos of Miss State mottos, tweets about “Can’t wait to hang out with y’all!”, and people just not getting over the Bulldog summer fling we had during the CWS.

Because it was exactly that, a summer fling… and Summer is coming to a close.

We went to summer camp in Omaha. By day three, we were the most popular kid there. Then we got busted for smoking cigs behind the cafeteria (even though EVERYONE was doing it) and we got sent packing. Meanwhile, Miss State shows a little support, plays a practical joke on the counselor, and takes home the girl we had our eyes on.

NC State was the best team in Omaha, PERIOD. If there was a school that knocked off the 15th seed in March Madness, so that State had a more direct route, I’d give them my best boxed vino too. But I’m not going to go write a long tell all book about how we were in love.

Miss State doesn’t care about us, they were simply celebrating the fact they didn’t have to face us. Take it from the biggest and I mean BIGGEST Miss State fan at Barstool;

See?!? WPN just sitting around thinking we have a friend, and maybe we do, but it sure as hell won’t be that way on Saturday. By the end of the first quarter you’ll be hating the cowbells as much as the Vandy Whistler, and that guy really sucks.

In fact, if the CWS never happened we’d be going all-in on hating the cowbells. We’d be like;

Miss State son comes home to his family. Tells them he’s got the prettiest southern bell in all of Starkville, even his friends admit it. His parents are overjoyed, their son has found true love, “when do we get to meet her?” Their son replies, “After about 5 minutes alone with my right hand, I’ll let you hold the bell too.”

See…BAM…we’d be all over that cowbell hate.

Yes, there were stories about MSU fans helping Wolfpack family and friends in Omaha. And to those few, thank you. If you’re a Pack fan that was directly involved, I get the love affair. To the 99% of other NC State fans, we need to stop.

Again, Miss State won a national championship that was ours for the taking. They do not care about us…they were living the dream, OUR dream. Stop acting like this friendship goes beyond a week at summer camp.
