NC State LB Torren Wright is Entering the Transfer Portal

NC State Redshirt Freshman Linebacker Torren Wright just announced he is entering the Transfer Portal.

First and foremost I would like to thank NC State University staff, coaches, and players for an amazing 2 years. After lots of prayer and talking with my family, I have decided I will be entering the transfer portal. All love🫶🏾

I feel the same way about this one as I did about Linebacker Daejuan Thompson entering the Portal. You have an opportunity to be developed by Tony Gibson as your Defensive Coordinator and your Linebackers coach. Wright, like Thompson was a 4-star prospect coming out of high school (Kannapolis, NC) in the 2022 recruiting class. Payton Wilson and Jaylon Scott will not be back in 2024. Sure, Caden Fordham and Devon Betty will be back, but NC State ran out 4 Linebackers in rotation in 2023. Why not come back and fight for one of those spots?

To be honest though, when Doeren spoke highly of Linebackers not playing this season, Freshmen Kamal Bonner and Kelvon McBride were the two I remember hearing.

Wright redshirted last year, and played in 7 games this season, all on Special Teams.

He will have 3 years to play his 3 remaining years of eligibility.
