NC State NT C.J. Clark Enters Transfer Portal

I didn’t see this one coming. NC State Redshirt Junior Nose Tackle C.J. Clark is entering the Transfer Portal, after starting every single game for the Wolfpack in 20223.

Clark played in 42 games for NC State, starting in 23 of them, collecting 72 tackles, 7.5 tackles for loss and 4 sacks. I have a hard time understanding transferring from a Top-25 defense that you just so happen to start on.

Anyways, behind Clark all year was Sophomore Brandon Cleveland, who graded out better than the man ahead of him. Cleveland finished the regular season with a grade of 70.2 according to PFF, compared to Clark’s 61.8. Clark finished with the 4th worst grade on the Wolfpack defense for players with 100+ snaps.

Clark was a 4-star prospect in the Wolfpack’s 2019 recruiting class out of North Stanly High School in New London, North Carolina. He has one year to play his final year of eligibility.

NC State has had 12 players enter the Transfer Portal
