NC State RB Delbert Mimms III Announces He is Transferring

Published

on

NC State Running Back Delbert Mimms III announced this morning that he will be transferring for his final year of eligibility.

Mimms had the best season of his collegiate career in 2023, rushing for 289 yards (2.9 yards per carry) and 8 touchdowns. Believe it or not, in Mimms three prior seasons on the field in Raleigh, he had never rushed for a touchdown. He changed that tune in a big way in 2023.

With NC State already bringing in Duke Running Back Jordan Waters from the Portal, and with another one likely to splash soon, Mimms is looking to find a place where he can get significant snaps in his final year of eligibility.

Mimms was a 3-star prospect in the Wolfpack’s 2019 recruiting class out of Indianapolis. 247Sports ranked him as the #19 overall player in the state of Indiana in the 2019 recruiting class.

NC State has had 22 players enter the Transfer Portal

Must not be such a great place to play when at least 23 players have transferred. I could understand if we went 3-9 instead of 9-4.

Don’t let the door hit you in the ass on your way out, loser.
