MLB The Show ’25 to feature college teams. Did NC State make the cut?

If you’re a baseball fan and you haven’t played MLB The Show for Xbox or Playstation, then you’re missing out.

And before you try to crack a joke about me being some old-age gamer, save it. I have 2 kids and a wife that requires me to do housework. So gimme a break, here. So I fire up the old Xbox every now and then to escape. I could have worse vices.

But lemme get back on track here.

MLB The Show is the most realistic baseball game out there. You can play the computer (boring), you can play other people online, or you could play Story mode, where you are the prospect who makes his way to the majors.

Now, it used to be that you create your character and you get drafted into the minor leagues. But this season, with MLB The Show ’25, they’re introducing the option to have your guy play in college.

So which colleges will be featured?

Well, according to MLB The Show ’25, it’s ‘select colleges.’

What are the select colleges? Well, at this point, no one knows anything except for what they can gather from the game’s new trailer. In that clip you can see Tennessee, Cal State Fullerton, LSU, South Carolina, TCU, Vanderbilt and UCLA logos or players. But they also show playing in the College World Series at Charles Schwab Field in Omaha, Nebraska.

NC State made the College World Series last year, so there is reason to believe they may be featured in the game. In fact, it was their second college World Series in 4 years.

With that said, Cal Sate Fullerton didn’t make the College WS last year. Neither did LSU, South Carolina, TCU, Vanderbilt or UCLA. Of the knoown group, only Tennessee made it last season.

I guess we’ll just have to wait until more info drops to see for sure.
