NC State Men’s Tennis is heading to the Sweet 16 for the third time in program history!

This past weekend, the #9-seeded Wolfpack went 2-0 as hosts of the Raleigh Regional, defeating South Carolina State 4-0 on Saturday and Georgia 4-1 on Sunday.

This marks the 15th time that the NC State Men’s Tennis team has been in the NCAA Tournament and only the third time they have made it to the Sweet 16. The other two times the Wolfpack reached the Super Regionals were in 2022 and 2007.

NC State has made the NCAA Tournament in seven consecutive seasons.

Four Wolfpack players earned All-ACC honors this season.

Junior Martin Borisiouk earned Third Team All-ACC honors, boasting a 16-8 record. He is currently ranked 30th nationally according to ITA’s Singles Rankings.

Senior Braden Shick was named to the Second Team. Shick’s current 2025 record is 20-14. This marks the second time he has earned All-ACC honors, landing on the Third Team in 2024. Shick is currently ranked 27th nationally according to ITA’s Singles Rankings.

Senior Luca Staeheli earned a spot on the Third Team and is currently ranked 91st by ITA. This season, he is 23-6. Staeheli closes out his college career as a three-time All-ACC honoree, earning Third Team honors in 2023 and 2022 as well. He also earned Second Team All-ACC honors in Doubles in 2023. In 2022, he was the ACC Freshman of the Year.

Shick and Senior Fons Van Sambeek earned First Team All-ACC honors in Doubles, boasting a 15-6 record. The Wolfpack duo is ranked sixth nationally according to ITA’s rankings.

The Wolfpack will face off against #8 seed Columbia in New York this Saturday in the Round of 16.
