2027 wide receiver Jonathan Dillon (6’2”, 185 pounds) is set to take an official visit to NC State this weekend.

Dillon is a local prospect, playing at Southern High School in Durham, just a short drive from Raleigh.

His junior season was anything but typical.

Due to injuries, Dillon was forced into the quarterback role for the Spartans, and delivered. He threw for 1,994 yards while completing 58.5% of his passes, tossing 20 touchdowns to just one interception. He added 529 rushing yards and 7 touchdowns, averaging an explosive 11.8 yards per carry.

Even while playing quarterback, Dillon still flashed his receiving ability, hauling in 11 passes for 237 yards.

As a sophomore, he played his natural position at wide receiver and produced at a high level, catching 38 passes for 798 yards and 7 touchdowns. He also contributed on the ground with 204 rushing yards and 2 scores, averaging 14.6 yards per carry.

NC State has prioritized Dillon for quite some time, extending an offer on July 9, 2024. His offer list includes Duke, Miami, Louisville, Virginia Tech, Florida State, Indiana, UNC, Georgia Tech, Wake Forest, West Virginia, and others.

In addition to his visit to Raleigh, Dillon has official visits scheduled with Wake Forest, Duke, and Virginia Tech.

From a rankings standpoint, Rivals and 247Sports both rate Dillon as a 3-star prospect, ranking him as the No. 19 overall player in North Carolina in the 2027 class.

At this point, momentum appears to be trending toward NC State. Both a Rivals RPM prediction and a 247Sports Crystal Ball projection point in the Wolfpack’s direction.

The question now becomes: could Dillon shut things down before the weekend is over?
