Former NC State quarterback Jalan McClendon will be transferring to Baylor after he graduates in May for his final year of eligibility.

The Bears struggled something fierce last year, finishing with an 1-11 record. With Zach Smith transferring, McClendon is only the third scholarship quarterback on Baylor’s roster. McClendon took an Official Visit over the weekend.

McClendon’s primary competition will be Sophomore Charlie Brewer. As a Freshman, Brewer took almost exactly half of the snaps at quarterback, and Smith took the other half.

I can’t see him taking the job from Brewer who was the Co-Offensive Freshman of the Year. Brewer completed 68.1% of his passes, threw 11 touchdowns (4 int), and has a passing efficiency of 146.3.

We wish Jalan McClendon the best. He was nothing but heart and class in Raleigh.
