On the eve of National Signing Day, NC State received a punch to the gut when 4-Star Offensive Tackle Austin Blasko tweeted out that he was decommitting from the Wolfpack at 11pm.

— Austin Blaske (@AustinBlaske) December 18, 2019
From the looks of it, it would seem that Georgia possibly swept in at the last second, and Blaske could be signing with the Bulldogs tomorrow instead.
Blaske was the third highest rated commit in NC State’s recruiting class according to 247Sports, and 1 of only 4 4-Star commits along with Wide Receiver Porter Rooks, Defensive Tackle Davin Vann and Safety Nehki Meredith.
This is a huge blow to the 2020 NC State recruiting class, considering the fact that he repped the Pack about as hard as any other member.

— Dwight Phillips, Jr. (@DwightP_2024) August 15, 2022
Phillips is a consensus 4-star recruit and a consensus Top-25o prospect nationally. 247Sports ranks him as the #81 overall player nationally, the #11 Athlete, and #14 player in the state of Georgia.
Arkansas, Auburn, Cincinnati, Georgia, Florida State, Michigan State, Mississippi State, UNC, Oregon, Purdue, and South Carolina are some of the noteworthy schools on Phillips’ offer sheet.
Last year, as a Sophomore, Phillips had 62 carries for 774 yards (12.5 yards per carry) and 7 touchdowns, as well as 9 receptions for 245 yards and 2 more touchdowns. He also returned 4 kickoffs for an average of 47.8 yards per return.
4-Star FSU DL Keith Sampson Set to Take Official Visit to NC State on September 10th
On September 10th, 4-Star 2023 Florida State Verbal Commit Defensive Tackle Keith Sampson (6’3″/285) will be taking an Official Visit to NC State. Sampson committed to play for the Seminoles back on March 5th of this year. Earlier this summer, as a FSU commit, Sampson also took an Official Visit to UNC in June. The only other Official Visit he has on the books is one to Florida State on October 28th.
The New Bern High School standout’s offer sheet is quite impressive: FSU, NC State, UNC, Alabama, Auburn, Clemson, Florida, Georgia, Miami, Michigan, Notre Dame, Ohio State, Penn State, Tennessee, Texas A&M and others.
One of the things that might be keeping NC State in contention with the Seminole commit is his friendship with Wolfpack commit Javonte Vereen, who is a 4-star Tight End out of Havelock.
247Sports ranks Sampson as the #145 overall player in the 2023 recruiting class, and the #4 player in the state of North Carolina.
FSU offered Sampson on May 17th last year, and NC State followed up with one of their own a day later.
NC State Offers 2 Twin 4-Star UCF LB Commits
In a matter of 3 days, NC State has offered scholarships to 4 linebackers who are already committed to other schools. First, it was Texas Tech commit Miquel Dingle Jr. on Saturday. Next, it was Vanderbilt commit Kelvon McBride yesterday afternoon. Then, last night the Wolfpack offered the Harris brothers, who are twins that both play linebacker at Lake Brantley High School in Altamonte Springs, Florida.

— Andrew harris ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ (@Andrew05478857) August 15, 2022
Andrew and Michael are both 4-star prospects that committed to UCF on July 6th this summer. Both players rank in the Top-25o overall nationally, with 247Sports ranking Andrew 135th and Michael 168th.
If NC State could pull off the feat and flip the Harris brothers, leaving their home state, they will have done what the following teams on their offer sheets couldn’t: Texas A&M, Tennessee, Auburn, Michigan St., Michigan, Mississippi St., Maryland, Penn St., Pitt and others.
The Harris brothers have only taken 2 of their official visits thus far, to Maryland and Michigan State.
