NC State guard Saniya Rivers has just wrapped up one of the best careers in school history.

Coming out of high school, the hype could not have been much higher for Rivers. She was the #3 overall player nationally in the 2021 recruiting class, a McDonald’s All-American, and the Gatorade National Player of the Year. During her high school career, she was named the North Carolina Gatorade Player of the Year three times and All-State four times.

Rivers signed with South Carolina, winning a National Championship with the Gamecocks in 2022, where she averaged 2.3 points in 13.0 minutes per game across 27 games without starting any.

After one year in Columbia, Rivers transferred to NC State and made an immediate impact, averaging 8.6 points, 5.2 rebounds, 2.9 assists, 1.8 steals, and 1.0 blocks. She earned the title of 2023 6th Player of the Year in the ACC, playing in all but one game.

Over the following two years, Rivers became one of only 11 players in school history to earn 1st Team All-ACC honors two or more times. She is one of six Wolfpack players to be named to the ACC All-Defensive Team and one of two to earn a spot on the squad twice.

As a junior, Rivers earned AP All-American Honorable Mention honors and became one of nine players in NC State history to do so.

Rivers finished her career ranked 9th in NC State history in blocks and 12th in steals. She is one of 40 players to score 1,000+ points as a member of the Wolfpack.
