True freshman quarterback Will Wilson rushed for four touchdowns in NC State’s 42–19 win over rival UNC this past Saturday night, setting a new school record for rushing touchdowns by a quarterback in a single game.

Wilson finished the night with 12 carries for 54 yards and four touchdowns against the Tar Heels. The true freshman has become a cheat code for NC State. Whether it’s 2nd-and-short, 3rd-and-short, or 4th-and-short, it seems next to impossible for opposing defenses to keep him from moving the chains.

On the year, Wilson has gained a first down on 64.1% of his carries. His 25 first downs rank second on the team, trailing redshirt sophomore running back Hollywood Smothers by only two.

Wilson’s nine rushing touchdowns on the season are the second-most ever by a quarterback in school history, trailing Scott Smith (1979) by four.
