NC State improved to 7-3 this evening, defeating Liberty 85-45 in the Lenovo Center. Here are my quick hits.

  • Well, it’s safe to say the Wolfpack covered the spread.
    • NC State was an 11.5-point favorite, and ended up covering the spread by 28.5 points.
  • Because of the Pack’s smothering defense, the betting Total went Under.
    • The Total was 157.5, and the two teams combined to score 130 points, which was 27.5 points Under the Total.
  • It’s hard to put into words how impressive NC State’s defensive performance was tonight.
    • Liberty entered the contest ranked 2nd nationally in field goal percentage (54.7%), 2nd in 2-point field goal percentage (66.5%) and 4th in 3-point field goal percentage (43.1%).
    • This evening, the Pack held the Flames to 35.3% shooting from the field, and 21.4% from three.
