NC State is Looking to Snap a 5-Game Bowl Losing Streak on Friday

NC State is looking to snap a five-game bowl losing streak on Friday when it faces Memphis in the 2025 Gasparilla Bowl.

The Wolfpack have struggled in bowl games under Dave Doeren, posting a 3–6 record.

With the Transfer Portal window moving back this year, the chances of winning bowl games have increased. Last year, the portal opened on December 9, but it has been pushed back to January 2 this season. With the Wolfpack playing in one of the earlier bowl games, it’s more likely players will suit up, increase their stock, and then enter the portal afterward if they choose to look for greener pastures.

A win over Memphis on Friday would even things out for NC State, bringing its overall bowl record to 18–18–1.
