NC State Women’s Basketball Handles Business in their ACC Opener at Miami (w/ Box Score & Highlights)

NC State made a statement in its 2025–26 ACC opener yesterday, crushing Miami 87–61 on the road and improving to 7–4 overall.

The Wolfpack entered as a 6.5-point favorite but ended up defeating the Hurricanes by 26 points.

NC State shot the ball extremely well, making 47.3% of its shots from the field (third-best percentage of the season) and 44.4% from three. Defensively, the Wolfpack held the Hurricanes to 36.5% shooting, marking the eighth time in 11 games NC State has held an opponent under 40%.

Junior forward Khamil Pierre recorded her seventh double-double in 11 games, finishing with 21 points (9-of-14 FG) and 13 rebounds, leading the team in both categories.

Sophomore Zam Jones scored 16 points, shooting an efficient 6-of-10 from the field and 3-of-4 from three. She also led the team with four assists.

Junior guard Zoe Brooks and freshman guard Destiny Lunan each chipped in 11 points, while sophomore guard Devyn Quigley added 10.

NC State committed two fewer turnovers and grabbed nine more offensive rebounds. The Wolfpack finished +9 in points off turnovers and +6 in second-chance points.

NC State will host its first ACC home game of the season on Thursday night when Georgia Tech comes to town. Tipoff is set for 7 p.m., and the game will be televised on ACC Network Extra.
